Prayer is an essential part of school life within All Saints. Opportunities for prayer include:
- Prayer Station – children can write a prayer to be shared with the class or whole school in collective worship
- Worship and Reflection areas in each classroom – used in class worship and available to the children for personal use
- Prayer Books– used in whole school collective worship
- Prayer areas outside the school – we are developing our prayer spaces outside in our lovely school grounds.
- Worship Leaders – write specific prayers for the time of year or celebration to use in whole school worship or special services in Church, eg. Harvest prayer, Leavers Prayer
Candles
We use the lighting of three candles to teach the children about the Holy Trinity.
We light these candles in the name of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
Saying Grace
Thank-you for the world so sweet
Thank-you for the food we eat
Thank-you for birds that sing
Thank-you God for everything
Saying goodbye and goodnight
Our Father, I have come to say thank you for your love today.
Thank you for my family and all the friends you give to me.
Guard me in the dark of night and in the morning send your light. Amen.
Our Harvest Prayer
Dear Lord,
We are thankful for everything You have done for us.
Thank You for all the food we have and for the warm homes we live in.
Please help those who are in need this harvest season, and ensure they receive the food they need.
Guide us to help those who are in need during this time of harvest.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
Our Courage Prayer
Dear Lord,
We come to you today to say thank you
for teaching us about courage this half
term. Thank you that you have shown us
that we can be courageous each day.
Lord, if we are ever fearful or worried
about something, please help us to be
courageous.
And please help us to be brave and keep
going and trying again when things are
difficult.
Help everyone in our school community
to be courageous just like David in the
story of David and Goliath.
In Jesus name,
Amen
