At our school, we believe in nurturing ‘courageous advocates’—young people empowered to speak out against injustice, to become agents of change and show compassion to all. Through our curriculum, children engage with issues affecting people locally, globally, and environmentally. By developing informed perspectives, they learn to raise awareness, educate others, and make a positive impact both in
their community and beyond.
A key part of our advocacy is supporting the local food bank at Renew Church in Uttoxeter. Understanding that no one should struggle without food, our children lead collection campaigns during Harvest and Christmas, including a reverse advent calendar, focusing on giving back to those in need.
Our commitment to global advocacy is demonstrated through our upcoming toilet twinning campaign, where we will raise awareness of toilet poverty. Every day, over 700 children die from diarrhoea linked to poor sanitation. As a school, we don’t believe this is ok. By twinning our school toilets, we will help fund Tearfund’s global water and sanitation projects, standing in solidarity with those who lack access to basic hygiene. Our children are learning to take action against injustice, fostering a spirit of compassion and responsibility for the world around them.
