Christian Vision
Shining with Jesus
“Let your light shine before others” Matthew 5:16
As a Church of England school, the teachings of Jesus are at the heart of all we do.
Our school seeks to inspire our children and staff to shine their light by walking with
courage, compassion, and curiosity in every area of life helping our community to
flourish.
Courage
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or
discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
Compassion
“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ
God forgave you.” Ephesians 4:32
Curiosity
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Psalm 119:105

Vision Rationale:
‘Our vision for education is deeply Christian, with Jesus’ promise of ‘life in all its fullness’ at its heart. In line with the Church of England’s role as the established Church, our vision is for the common good of the whole community.’ Church of England Vision for Education
The rationale behind our school vision is deeply rooted in theology while aligning to both the Church of England vision for education and our MAT vision.
The theological rationale for our vision is derived from our key verse found in Matthew 5:16, “Let your light shine before others”. As a Church of England school, our vision seeks to have Jesus’ teachings at the heart of our school to allow all in our community to flourish. The emphasis on walking with courage, compassion, and curiosity aligns with the values derived from Jesus’ teachings. Our school seeks to inspire individuals within its community to embody these virtues, fostering an environment where everyone contributes to the well-being and flourishing of all in the community, and so reflects the light of Christ.
Schools part of the Uttoxeter Learning Trust seek to ‘to inspire pupils by ensuring all of our schools provide an exceptional education that nurtures pupils’ talents, ignites their curiosity, and empowers them to reach their full potential’. As we are part of a trust, when formulating our school vision, it was important to ensure our school vision aligns with both the CofE vision for education and the ULT vision. The three keys in our MAT vision were to inspire, to ignite curiosity and empower pupils to reach their full potential. This is why our school vision seeks to inspire our children and staff to shine their light and walk with our three core values, including curiosity, to help each member of our community flourish and to all reach their full potential.
The Christian vision of our school meets the needs of those in our community by creating a safe, welcoming and supportive environment that allows everyone in our school community to shine. Our vision seeks to create an environment where all are inspired to be courageous and to be curious about the world beyond the reaches of our location and to show compassion to all in and outside of our immediate community.
